Mr + Mrs Martinez Travel - Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Okay, so we've been back from the Republica Dominicana for about a month now. So I thought it would be a good time to time to share our experiences!
We traveled there for our first international destination wedding. I have shot destination weddings and traveled for photoshoots before, but never internationally. I have to say I was quiet excited by the prospect, talk about dream job!
We rented a condo from HomeAway (our first experience with that too) and a car. I really tried to pack light, so that we both wouldn't need to check our bags for the flight. We ended up taking two carry-ons and two personal items - success!
The weather once we arrived was grand, a little rainy but I won't complain much because it was still quiet warm. A huge difference from what I can see of the snowy weather we have now outside of my window. The beach was amazing, white sand beautiful blue water - what could be better! We explored a bit, visited the Marina in Cap Cana saw the gorgeous boats and beautiful little "town" -- it was actually a resort built to look like a old town, I was in love. We tried a restaurant called Punta Cava based on reviews from trip advisor in the nearby Punta Cana Village. All in all the was a really neat experience, and we would not hesitate to go back again for another destination wedding.
