Planthropy - Specialty Succulent Arrangements - Columbus, Ohio
I'd connected with Jessie at Planthropy, last year during a project we worked on together (with a host of other wonderful vendors!). Ever since I'd been following her on Instagram, on which she's recently reached over 6,000 followers (you go girl!) Her succulent workshops always looked like a blast! So I was thrilled to be able to attend a Terrarium Workshop , which she hosted at Chelsea Borough Home in Dublin, OH. The setting was cozy, and I did a little (window) shopping while we waited for class to start, CBH has such beautiful home decor items I couldn't pass up the chance to look around.
As class began we were all welcomed with a glass of wine. (yay!) Everything was laid out for us and the class started with an introduction to the tools and plants we'd be using for our terrariums. Step by step we learned how to layer in each of the components with helpful suggestions about plant placement. I've always been interested in learning from and supporting Columbus' small business owners. Planthropy is totally doing cool things in our community, so I was excited for the opportunity to reconnect with Jessie, and get to know a little bit more about the motivations behind her business. Tell us a little about Planthropy and what you offer for couples planning a wedding.
Hello! My name is Jessie and I am the founder of Planthropy. The inspiration behind Planthropy came from my love of nature and the outdoors. It is my belief that when you bring a live piece of nature inside, it radiates a healthy energy throughout a room and cultivates joy. Planthropy provides succulent centerpieces, favors, boutonnieres, corsages, hairpieces and accessories.
What makes Planthropy unique?
Planthropy specializes in very low maintenance, easy to care for plants that are fuss-free. Succulents, cacti and air plants are our favorite plants to work with! We pride ourselves on educating our customers about their plants so they know exactly how to care for them; whether taking home an accent piece or a centerpiece.
Our centerpieces for weddings and other special occasions are very unique in that they are rooted plants, not like flower cuttings, so they will last a very long time and you can enjoy them for years to come.
