Bexley, OH - Anniversary Session - Caresse + Ike
J. luis and I spent a lovely afternoon with Caresse and Ike over the weekend. They were 'photo session first timers', and were feeling a little bit nervous at the start. Caresse told us "We were very nervous having never done a photo shoot, but we were made to feel relaxed. We had so much fun!" Haha, can you believe it? If you ask me, these two were total naturals! Their love for each other really shined! - nervous!? It definitely didn't show.
They first met at a party through mutual friend more than 10 years ago, and their love blossomed from there. It blossomed so much, that they're celebrating 10 years of marriage this month. A decade of love, life, and loyalty. We felt so privileged to help them celebrate this wonderful moment in time, by creating heirloom images for them to cherish for years and generations to come. Ike's proposal took place at his moms house - How darling! Careese described it as "sweet and very simple". She says: "He asked me 'If I loved him, and did I still want to get married?' I said 'Yes.' to both questions and he replied " let's do this then!"
Ten years later, and they are still going strong! What a beautiful thing when two people love each other and commit to work on life together. When asked what advice they would give to newly engaged couples and newlyweds, they said: "Our advice would be [to work on] communication, and forgiveness. Remember that your spouse is your best friend and [you should] treat them as such!" Words to live by indeed.
