Planning an intimate wedding - Columbus, OH

With so many choices, you might wonder if an intimate wedding is the best fit for you and your future spouse. While I don't know if the answer is 'yes' for you, here are a few reasons to consider planning an intimate wedding.

It's your day, a special day, where you vow to love cherish and respect one another forever. So you deserve to enjoy that day as much as possible and all the wonderful happiness that goes with it and a smaller wedding is perfect for that. Planning an intimate wedding can allow you time to talk with your guests, those closest to you and celebrate with them throughout the day.

Think about your priorities - What is the most important part of your wedding day (Of course getting married is the MOST important part, but what else)? It might getting dressed up, cutting the cake, saying your vows, the first dance, having lovely, emotive images to look back on (I hope this ranks pretty high on your list ^.~). Whatever it is for you, plan around that special part and when other things aren't fitting in well with the rest of your plans - be willing to modify them or let them go.

Here's an outline of a few things to consider when planning your intimate wedding -

  • Guest list - your closest friends and family
  • Wedding Planner / Coordinator
  • Ceremony location
  • Reception/ Dinner location
  • Photography + Videography
  • Clothing - Dress/ Suit
  • Bouquet + boutonniere florist
  • Cake bakery
  • DJ / Music

This is by no means an exhaustive list, you might consider how to plan out the timeline for the day as well. I hope it will serve as a starting point when planning your intimate wedding day.

By the way, if we haven't met yet, I'm LaNae and I specialize in creating emotive imagery for small and intimate weddings. Last year I met a couple, Nadia and Ben who asked me to photograph their intimate brunch themed wedding, in downtown Columbus, OH. Swoon. If you think we might be a good fit, let's chat!
